Volleyball every night at 4pm, winner gets Nica Libres (rum and coke) while they play We Are the Champions - Queen, losers get "Iced" drink a smirnoff ice while kneeling on the counter of the bar while they play Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice. Turtle races when the eggs hatch, turtle walks down the beach at night to see the old turtles return home to lay their eggs (turtles will swim miles to return to their birth place to lay their eggs). Bonfires at night. Beautiful Sunsets. The list goes on but you get the point!
I've been here 4 days and I have been thinking about asking to volunteer for a month. Most hostels will let you volunteer if they have room and you get paid in food and with a free room for the night. Work is usually light and mostly involves being making friends with the guests, which is all you want to do when you're around so many like minded people anyhow. The owners are great and put a lot of time and work into this place and thought of most of the details that other hostels might leave out.
My favorite part of the hostel is definitely the people though. The layout of the hostel is extremely inclusive to everyone yet there are places by the beach to get shade and avoid the crowds. Although there is still a party vibe at night, you can easily do your own thing or go to bed and not be disturbed by the noise. They also will call and arrange all sorts of tours from here, and even provide a free horse-drawn cart to bring you back to the boats so you don't have to lug all your heavy things down the beach.
Come for a few days and someone will talk you into a few more!
