Last night we went out to celebrate because again everyone is splitting ways. Some friends have to return home and others have been here for over a week. We all went to watch the sunset at the beach, then we shared a few pizzas and came back to the hostel to relax.

At the beach there were two other backpacking girls that I started chatting with. They are from Switzerland. Switzerland doesn't have a national language though so they spoke french as their first language and english/spanish/german as other languages. They came to relax at the hostel with us and at 1am we went down to the ocean for a late night/early morning swim. The waves here are very sporadic and while we were lounging in the water a huge wave came and knocked us all over. It was so dark that we couldn't see the wave until the very last minute. One of the girl's glasses were knocked from her head. They were very expensive glasses and we tried to search for them in the water but it would have taken a miracle to find them. I felt really bad for her but she also said that they were insured so she could get another pair hopefully for free!

My budgeting has been better but it's hard not to treat yourself every now and again when you're with so many other people who don't mind spending more money, because they have less time to travel. I will probably be able to relax here a bit more and save some money though because Nica is so much cheaper than Costa Rica. Ice cream (double scoop) on a cone is a little less than a dollar for example!
